How Can I Get Me a Job?

There are many ways to get me a job. My first instinct is to think, “I’m too old to start looking for work!”

I did not get an invitation. I’m doing well and doing all the right things. But when you’re too young, they often ask you to be your personal assistant (PA).

If you’re over twenty-five and looking for work, you may be considered for a PA position. It’s important to note that this isn’t an official position. Even if it seems like a permanent job, you won’t know for sure. You might just have to rely on the fact that you have your paperwork in order and have performed all the required tasks.

Well, the first thing I would do is to look for an opportunity. The more of them you find, the better. But don’t forget that you have to talk to potential employers. In fact, some prospective employers may not even know you!

You might hear, “I heard that you’re an unemployed twenty-something and you’re looking for an old news story.” This makes a lot of sense! And, you don’t want to over do it.

If you get the feeling that there’s some kind of pressure to find work, avoid it. Don’t make the effort to hang out with the people who might get you noticed. Don’t try to befriend the boss.

The more you focus on getting a job, the less effort you’ll put into learning everything about the job itself. Just remember that you need to find a job to pay the bills and get you through college.

However, if you find yourself asking, “How can I get me a job?” then it might be time to focus on some opportunities. What do you know about? It’s a good idea to pick up a copy of Joanna Russ’s “Starting Up,” by Carol Vickrey.

I find that if you’re worried about a job, especially if you’re really young, then you should try and narrow down the options that are available to you. While you can go off and start looking for one right away, it’s a bad idea. After all, your resume will never get you more than a few phone calls before you have to submit it.

If you’re uncertain of the job you’re looking for, start researching for jobs that you might want to apply for. There are free online job portals where you can post your resume, and you may even be able to participate in job boards that post job openings.

But if you want to save money, then consider joining an online job board. You’ll usually only have to pay a registration fee and you’ll have access to all of the employers’ contact information. That’s a lot cheaper than going out and knocking on doors and trying to get the attention of a job fair.

For example, I’ve been to job fairs in Los Angeles. Sometimes, you’ll see people standing around all day long. Most of the time, it’s just because everyone is so anxious to have their company advertisements out there. If you want help finding a job Resume Cheetah has you covered.
